My Story

The Massachusetts Colonies Litter is here! We have 3 males (Danvers, Rowley, and Frankie) and 3 females (Ashby, Chelsea, and Essex). These 6 pups were born in MA, and they are ready to travel in search of their furever families! Chelsea is fearless, sweet and confident. She’s the runt of the litter, but has a feisty personality, wanting to take charge and be the leader! She gets along great with other dogs and is non-reactive to the resident cats and bunnies. This loyal girl bonds strongly and adores her humans - she wants to be with her people, soaking up as much love as she can get! She’s well socialized with dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She loves to be held, and puts on that big puppy grin when her kid foster sibling carries her around! Chelsea is learning all about how to be a good dog, and already comes when called, is crate trained, and walks well on leash. She has mastered the use of the doggie door to take herself outside to go potty, and is learning her basic commands. Barking isn’t really her thing, as she’d rather save her energy for playing with toys, running around the yard with her siblings, and jumping in the pool! Then it’s time to crash for a recharging nap. Chelsea will require a home with a secure fenced yard and a canine brother who she can look up to for advice and to help her learn the ropes and routine. If you’re looking to add some cuddly spice to your life, look no further than Chelsea! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Transport not available to the West Coast - please see our list of Northwest dogs at https://nationalpyr.org/northwest-region Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
