My Story

Cheri, in French, means darling! At 75 creamy-coated pounds, 2-year-old Cheri has the paw-tential to be the most "darling" of them all. Shy but calm as she slowly accustoms herself to life in her fosters' condo, she loves having her belly rubbed and is never shy about giving her paw to ask for attention. While she currently sleeps much of the time, she's endlessly curious, comfortably exploring her environment, sitting on the balcony to see what's happening in the neighborhood, sun bathing and even napping outside. Cheri's favorite toy and best friend is her monkey - she LOVES cuddling with it - and her favorite treats are chicken and duck beef jerky. Motivated mainly by food, she knows "come" and "no," has yet to be walked on a leash, considers her crate to be her "safe" place, and is diligently at work on her house-training. With much yet to learn and much love to share, Cheri is best suited to a calm home with a yard and patient adopters who will bolster her confidence, complete her training, including her commands, and make her the most "darling" of them all. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
