My Story

Chickadee's Story -Written by Chickadee, a 14-week-old, 20lb female Great Pyrenees mix from our Tweeting Tails Litter. ? Pickup Location: Skiatook, OK ? Adoption App: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey there, it’s Chickadee, and I want to share a bit of my journey with you. It’s been a tough road, but it’s also made me the hopeful, loving pup I am today. You see, I came from a home where there were just too many of us—ten puppies in total. Our owners couldn’t find us all homes and couldn’t afford to feed us properly. It was a struggle just to get enough food each day, and unfortunately, one of my siblings didn’t make it. He passed away the day before we were scheduled to come to PPFT, likely because he couldn’t get enough to eat and kept getting pushed out of the way during mealtime. When we arrived at PPFT, we were in pretty rough shape. Dehydrated, full of parasites, and much too skinny. We were all quite sick and didn’t know what the future held. But thanks to the amazing care we received, we bounced back to being healthy and happy puppies. We’ve been given a second chance, and now it’s time to start the search for my forever home. So here I am, excited and hopeful, looking for a forever family where I can bring joy, laughter, and endless tail-wagging happiness. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s been through a lot and is ready to shower you with love, then look no further—I’m your girl, and I can't wait to meet you! <3 I’m a 14-week-old, 20lb female Great Pyrenees mix. Now, I say “mix” because no one’s quite sure what else is in the recipe. Could be a dash of Collie, a sprinkle of Labrador, or maybe even a hint of Golden Retriever! But one thing’s for sure—I’m 100% adorable. Great Pyrenees are known for their impressive size and fluff, and I’m already showing signs of becoming a fluffy giant. You might need a GPS to navigate through my fur, and a lint roller should probably be your new best friend. Now, let’s talk about my future size. At 14 weeks and 20 pounds, I’m on track to be a big girl. You can expect me to grow into a lovable, huggable, 70+ pound fluffball. With a bigger dog like me, you’ll get to experience all the fun things that come with it—like my ability to take up half the couch or my insistence on sitting on your lap, despite my size. It’s all part of my charming Great Pyrenees nature! But despite my size, I promise I’m as gentle as they come. I love to play, cuddle, and bring a whole lot of joy to your life. Are you ready for the lowdown on how I do with other pets and people? So, how do I do with other dogs? Well, I’m a sweet and friendly girl who’s just a little bit shy when it comes to meeting my fellow canines. Picture me as the new kid in school, trying to figure out how to join the cool kids' table. I’m learning the ropes of doggy playtime and slowly but surely becoming part of the pack. I might start off a bit reserved, but once I get the hang of it, I’m all in for some fun! Do I need another dog in my new home? Not necessarily. Honestly, I kind of see myself as the perfect companion for someone who’s retired or someone who’s home most of the time. Imagine us lounging together, binge-watching your favorite shows, and maybe taking the occasional nap (or two...or three). I’m pretty low-key and just love being around my humans. Now, about cats. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting one yet, but given my sweet and gentle nature, I’m pretty sure I’d do just fine with a feline friend. I mean, I’ve got all this fluff to share, and I’m more than ready to offer some soft, fluffy snuggles to any cat willing to accept them. And how do I do around kids? Oh, let me tell you, I absolutely light up when I get attention from kids or adults. I might be a bit nervous to ask for it at first, but once someone shows me some love, I’m all in. Imagine a fluffy puppy doing a happy dance because someone decided to give her some belly rubs—that’s me! Am I a social butterfly or more reserved when meeting new people? Picture this: I’m the cutest little thing, super shy but with a burning desire to befriend you. I’ll slowly make my way over with this nervous little smile on my face, my nose all wrinkled up in the most adorable way(I believe some people call it the "elvis lip". It’s like I’m saying, “I’m a little scared, but I really want to be your friend!” Trust me, it’s heart-meltingly cute. So, if you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and sometimes shy pup who’s ready to light up your life with love and laughter, look no further. Would I prefer a more active lifestyle or a quieter one? I’d say I’m a quiet kind of girl in the beginning. Think of me as a little introvert, just starting to peek out of her shell. As my confidence builds, who knows? I might just surprise you and become your new hiking buddy. But for now, I’m more of a “let’s chill and take it easy” kind of pup. Speaking of hiking, do I think I’d like it? Eventually, I might. I mean, I do have these fluffy, sturdy legs that are just itching to explore. But let’s take it one step at a time, okay? Start me off with some gentle strolls, and we’ll see where it goes from there. Do I play fetch? Not yet. I’m still figuring out this whole “toy” thing. Right now, toys are these strange objects I haven’t quite warmed up to. But give me some time, and I might just discover the joy of a good game of fetch. And what’s my energy level like? I’m very calm and quiet at the moment. Think of me as your perfect little zen companion. We can meditate together, or I can just nap while you do all the talking. I’m cool with that. If you’re looking for a sweet, shy, and incredibly adorable pup who’s ready to grow and explore the world at her own pace, I think we would make the most PYRfect match! <3 Am I potty trained? Well, not quite. But I’m doing a spectacular job of going potty outside. It’s like a daily treasure hunt where the prize is... well, you know. I’ve got the enthusiasm, I just need a bit more practice. I promise, with a bit more guidance, I’ll be a potty pro in no time! Am I kennel trained? You bet! I’ve stayed in the crate and done really well. It’s like my own little cozy cave. Where do I stay when no one is home? Well, I’ve got a puppy pen area set up in the sunroom for me and my siblings. It’s like our own little puppy paradise, complete with sunshine and space to stretch out. So, what do you say? Ready to add a sprinkle of fluffy fun and a whole lot of love to your life? I’m Chickadee, and I’m eagerly waiting to be your partner in crime, cuddles, and all the adventures life has to offer. Let’s make every day brighter, every moment sweeter, and every tail wag a celebration! Adopt me, and together we’ll create a bond that’s paws-itively unforgettable. Let’s start this furry, fabulous journey together—what are you waiting for? Let’s make it official and become the best team ever by you applying for me at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 ??? Once your application comes on, PPFT will send over more details about me and forward your app to my foster family for review. If everything still sounds like a match, PPFT will finish getting you all approved so you can meet and welcome me home! <3 Oh, another thing. I am being fostered in Skiatook, OK. If you have fallen in love with me and are out of state, how about a road trip? PPFT doesn't send us on commercial transport to limit our stress. So, if you want to welcome me or one of my other fluffy butt comrades to your family, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma ?
