CHICO

Chico is a handsome boy who was very loved by his former people. Heres what they had to say about him: Chico is a good dog who needs someone who can take the time to care for and train him. Hes very loving and affectionate to his owners and is protective of his home. We were told his previous owner passed away and he was lost in the desert for three months until we took him in. He's a good boy who knows most basic commands- sit, drop it, lay down, shake, and is kennel trained/housebroken. He loves to play and needs strong chew toys. He loves balls and loves to play fetch and tug of war. He loves walks though he needs some help with leash etiquette. Chico is also very loved by his friends at the shelter: I have walked Chico many times now and find him to be an exceptional dog. He is easy to leash and walks well. The last time I walked him he pushed up against my legs to get affection. I am really becoming fond of this overlooked guy. I chose a quiet time this morning to meet Chico, as I was a stranger to him. He was eager to go for a walk but kept all four feet on the floor and waited for me to leash him. He loose leash walked 75% of the time we were in the park. He was comfortable with me petting him but was focused on his surroundings. However, when I called his name, Chico looked up at me with soft eyes and sat for a treat, which he took gently.
