Chilli

1 year old, Female, 55 pounds, American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier mix Chilli is full of zest for everything in life. Tennis balls? Yes! Food? Yes! Rolling around on her back? Yep, that too. Just over a year old, Chilli loves everything (and everyone). Goofy and silly, but super smart and eager to learn, Chilli is working on her manners and learning that a calm sit or laying down is the best way to get a reward — whether that’s her breakfast, a treat, or her favorite orange tennis balls. She’s made great strides in her housebreaking, with consistency and patience being key. At night, she goes into her crate easily and sleeps soundly — usually on her back, snoring. She has so much love to give, and continued guidance on the best way to show it to her humans is what she’s looking for. She loves being with her people, and is very much a social creature — she wants to say hi to everyone (human and canine alike) encountered on her walks. She would love a home where someone is often around, to enjoy the days together and laugh at her antics. Chilli currently lives in a home with two adults, a 6-year-old, and a dog-savvy cat. Given her size and the need to continue to work on her manners, a home without small children or cats is recommended. A fenced in yard would be ideal for this silly girl who loves to run and then roll around in the grass (especially if there is a ball involved). She may also learn from a similar sized or larger, more mature and socially adept dog.
