Cielo

Meet Cielo, formerly known as Kai. She is a 14 year old dog that was owner surrendered to the Downey Shelter on May 5, 2024. She did not have any significant health or behavior issues. She was simply returned for the sake of being old. Since the shelters are overwhelmed with dogs, there was no way she would have much time. We saw her second plea and reached out the shetler saying we wanted to find a foster. A wonderful woman applied to foster a different dog for us which had a foster. We asked if she would take Kai, now Cielo, and she said yes! When Cielo was brought to her new home, she immediately found this chair. While she felt at home right away, one of the foster's own dogs haterd her. After giving the foster's dog time and a chance to accept a new dog to the pack, we decided it was not a good place for cielo. So she was brought back to the sanctuary. here, she is scared of the dogs. We are slowly introducing her to everyone. Everyone is nice, but she is fearful. We really want to find her a quiet home with one friendly dog, or now dog. She deserves to have the best of the resit of her life! Foster or adopt today!
