My Story

Clarence is a young male plott hound mix whose heart is as soft as his gorgeous brindle coat. He is just over two years old and weighs 49 pounds. Clarence is dog- and people-friendly and will make a great addition to an active family/couple/individual. He especially loves playing frisbee, so he would love it if you have a fenced yard or a place where he can show off his skills. It’s important to know that Clarence is a back-of-the-pack dog. So he really appreciates having a dog to model appropriate behavior and humans that give him the guidance he needs. He’s currently enjoying foster care following an adoption with a family that wasn’t the right fit for him. Back-of-the-pack dogs are always a little unsure of whether they are doing things right, which is why they love getting that guidance from their humans. Such dogs are easily bullied, so it’s equally important for their humans to not tolerate such behavior from other dogs. Clarence has settled in nicely with two well-balanced female dogs in his foster home. He’s good in his crate, has good house manners, is sweet and lovable, comes when you call him, likes to be near you without being annoying. . . basically he checks all the boxes for being a great dog! Clarence’s leash-walking continues to improve, and his foster mom is happy to share her tricks for enjoyable walks. Apply at redbarnrescue.com to meet this gorgeous dog!
