Meet Clause, the lovable Great Dane with a goofy personality that will win you over in no time! Clause is a happy dog who adores shaking his toys, chasing balls, and engaging his foster siblings in a game of tug. He loves to bring you toys and will nudge you with them when he thinks it's playtime. A pro at toy destruction, he finds immense joy in destuffing them and loves to liven up the house with the loudest toy he can find. Clause gets along wonderfully with other dogs in social settings but could use a bit of help sharing high-value items. He walks decently on a leash and knows basic commands like "sit" and "leave it." While he's still learning manners and can be a bit pushy when hyper, he responds well to "ouch" and has improved significantly in his play behavior. Due to his size and tendency to get mouthy when excited, Clause's ideal home should have no children under the age of 12. Clause has been fostered with cats who have been patient with him, but he does tend to chase and mouth them, so he needs to be monitored around feline friends. A home without cats or with very tolerant ones would be best for him. This velcro dog has some separation anxiety that has improved but still prefers to be with his humans as much as possible. He can be destructive when left alone for even short periods, so he is kenneled when needed. While he's noisy and will try to escape the kennel, he goes in without a fuss and eats his meals there due to some resource guarding tendencies. Clause would thrive in a home where he's not left alone often, ideally with a family who works from home and has other dog siblings to keep him company. He doesn't have accidents in the house when let out regularly and loves sleeping in bed with his fosters. He was in rough shape, with skin and ear infections from untreated mange as well as being kept in a waste filled kennel. He stood hunched lacking muscles in his back legs. He was fed pig feed and smelled so strongly that even after multiple baths, he still could be smelled from over 10 feet away. He had to have a calcified hematoma removed from his side. He's fully recovered from his past and ready to start his future!
