Meet Cleo! A few weeks ago, after a metro Atlanta area shelter had sent out a plea for help, we visited the shelter after hours to see who we could help. You think a shelter during the day is sad? You should see it at night! There is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing those poor dogs curling up into the smallest ball possible trying to get some sleep in a scary shelter! We met sweet girl Cleo on that trip. She had been there for 3 months and was just visibly broken and shut down. Walking down the hall to leave, Cleo just kept trying to go back to her kennel. That was just about the saddest thing we had seen in a long long time. No matter how cold and sterile we viewed her kennel, it was probably the first safe place she had ever known! Cleo has now been in a foster home for a few weeks and is really starting to enjoy life on the outside! Her other doggy foster siblings have helped her learn how to play and just be a dog. All that's left to complete her transformation into happiest girl ever is her very own forever family! We think Cleo is about 2ish yrs old and probably some sort of American Bulldog/Pitbull mix. She truly is the most gentle girl and absolutely gorgeous! She's looking for a family with at least one other confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes and a fenced yard.
