Clifford

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Clifford is a friendly, affectionate, goofy and playful boy. He is dog friendly and enjoys off leash doggy playgroups. He is good with respectful kiddos. He knows basic commands and is house and leash trained. Clifford was adopted at a shelter off-site event by irresponsible humans. They took him home where they had another male dog without aan initial meet n' greet or slow intro, just brought Clifford into their house and the resident's dog territory. The two dogs did not get along in the house, a fight broke out and nothing was done by the humans to end the fight. Clifford was returned to the shelter with multiple new scars and healing scabs/wounds. The family did not look for triggers or did not keep an eye on the dogs when they were together. Totally irresponsible people. Here are some notes from the shelter on if Clifford could live in a home with another dog: Yes, provided introductions are done appropriately. Clifford probably shouldn't live with a male dog. He has done well with dogs before and since being returned, but would likely do best in a home either alone or with a female dog. When he was brought in as a stray, he came in with another male and they were both good buddies and co-kenneled. He does well on parallel walks with other dogs and has gone to multiple off-site adoption where he's in close proximity to other dogs (he tends to completely ignore them and just wants his toys or to be around people - the team literally had to think about if they've even noticed him care about or react to other dogs, and they haven't). He's waiting for his family/person to find him – responsible people that won't set him up for failure but will give him a loving home filled with kindness and understanding and will let him be part of the family – an important part.
