My Story

Get a CLUE! And by that we mean, come adopt our friend Clue at ACCT Philly! Clue is a scared lady in the loud shelter environment, as so many of us would be. But once she warms up and gets some 1 on 1 time, she is a sweet and gentle girl! She loves pets, loves treats, and has had good dog meets in our care. Clue is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm. Video: Rocky Dude and Clue: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9lku328AECE?feature=share Petting Clue: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/vTRY3AwbDZY?feature=share Behavior: Per Volunteer 7/17/24: Sweet but scared lady! She was very easy to leash and walks super nicely, doesn't pull much at all. She was really scared to walk through doorways at first but came through with some verbal encouragement, but as time went on she got much more comfortable! She did both potties when we got outside and her kennel is clean so might be housetrained. Takes treats super gently! She wasn't overly affectionate with me but takes some pets and gave me tail wags when she got them. She had an awesome meet with another dog Rocky Dude- he came on pretty strong but she was tolerant even though she was a little scared at first. Super sweet lady! Per Staff 7/15/24: When approaching Clue in kennel she was lying on her bed. She stood up and came to the front with a neutral body, semi soft eyes, and some slow mid level wags. i was able to easily leash her and she exited without issue. No issues returning In the room Clue was fairly neutral bodied and aloof. She explored a bit and I held her on leash at first due to her aloof behavior. She would give some mid level wags when speaking to her but would then walk away losing interest. She allowed me to pet her head and back, remaining tolerant, but would never lean in or actively solicit attention from me. She would give indicators at times that she wasnt completely comfortable either and would lip lick or give slight whale eye at times. She did show knowledge of sit, but would not take any treats when offered. When I dropped leash with her she sat in a corner of the room 6-7 feet away ignoring me and glancing out the door. When I called her over she eventually came over standing by me with some mid level wags and soft eyes. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
