COAL is a 1 year old mixed breed taken in as a lost dog on 6/7/24 with another dog. Running for a couple of months with little socialization with people, Coal's trust in humans wasn't strong or deep. Since intake, his trust has improved, but is still a work in progress. Getting the lead on him for walks was difficult at best when he first arrived and he preferred to stick close to and follow his buddy Clay, who he came in with. Almost 2 months into his stay with us and Coal is much better at going for walks, but at this stage, he does best with consistency and a small group of the same people. He's not as sensitive to change, but Coal does require people to be sensitive to his needs while he regains his faith in humanity. He's nice, sweet and ultra attentive. As Coal has begun to relax and trust us, he's beginning to show his personality, which resembles those of the cattle dog breed. He's definitely tenacious and always alert. Coal is seeking serious TLC, patience and a lifetime of commitment. His adoption fee is $150 and helps cover the cost of his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm and flea preventive, microchip and care while at CCHS.
