My Story

Coca is a sweet little girl who wins the heart of everyone she meets! She was rescued from the county shelter where she had a deadline of 4pm before being euthanized. Coca is currently in a foster home where she loves to play with the other dogs, though doesn't quite understand their personal space all the time. Coca is a medium energy level, going from zoomies to cuddling and calm very easily. Coca is crate trained and while she may bark for a minute, she calms down quickly. She puts herself to bed in her kennel every night! The shelter aged Coca at 8 years old, but our vet aged her more towards 5 years old. She currently weighs 14lbs (she was only 8lbs at intake...she has gained some good healthy weight). Medical: history of 2 seizures, 1 month apart. Per vet appointment on 7/11/24 with Dr. Brown at Foothills Vet - "just monitor and not pursue any treatment or medication at this time." ************************************ Coca is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at https://bit.ly/USAHOTNADOPT2024 Adoption process: Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption.
