My Story

Meet Cocoa: Your New Livestock Guardian and Loyal Companion! Cocoa is a 2-year-old mixed breed Livestock Guardian Dog, with a touch of Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She’s proven to be an excellent protector for goats, sheep, chickens, and turkeys, and she’s even besties with the cat! Since moving to Arkansas in December, Cocoa has already shown her skills by protecting the farm from armadillos. What Cocoa Needs: Space to Run: Cocoa thrives with plenty of room to roam and protect. Enlarged paddocks have helped keep her focused on her job. Fence Solutions: Cocoa has a history of fence jumping, but she responds well to training collars and could adapt to an electronic fence. Companionship: She worked well with an older male dog in the past, which might be a good option for her future home. What Cocoa Isn’t Good At: Sister Dynamics: Cocoa does not get along with her sister, so a solo dog home or a compatible male dog would be ideal. Location: Near Melbourne, Arkansas. Contact Vicky at 906-630-7781 for more information or to set up a meet and greet. **Courtesy Posting**
