Joanna, at For The Love Of Paws Pet Services, says I am a cutie, but I need some training classes to help me transition to a new home. Force Free Dog Obedience Training classes are required to adopt me from Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. This is non-negotiable! Training classes are not part of our rescue's adoption fee.
Cookie is a reserved, shy, and timid Maltese spayed female. She is playful and cuddly on her own terms and enjoys running and walking. She exhibits bursts of energy, known as "zoomies," in the backyard. Cookie is compatible with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. She is kennel-trained and mostly house-trained.
Despite her shyness and timidity, Cookie is a very sweet and playful dog. She is exceptionally quiet and rarely barks. She cooperates well with grooming, except for her aversion to baths, during which she may vocalize her discomfort. Cookie is not food aggressive and can remain quietly in her crate during the day when left alone.
However, she would benefit from the presence of a canine companion to help her build trust in humans. While she loves all members of her foster home placement family, she is fearful of small children. Additionally, she is very she is accustomed to using pee pads. She will go to the washroom outside in the yard on warm weather days. She has signs you need to be aware of for her washroom routine.
It is important to note that Cookie does not appreciate being picked up. She has developed a strong bond with her foster care companion, Bear, and they engage in continuous play together. Considering her preferences, Cookie would be best suited for a quiet home environment rather than a busy one. She is also pee pad trained.
Cookie has adapted well to her foster home placement, which features a fully fenced and securely locked yard.
