My Story

If youre looking for a sweet and gentle girl who is happy to snuggle up and watch some movies with you, look no further! Cora is your girl! Cora can take a while to warm up to new situations and people, but once she does her lovely personality comes out in full force! This goofy girl LOVES to toss her stuffed toys around dramatically, a good game of tug, and the occasional playful wrest! She is very much a low-key shepherd but don't let this fool you, she truly enjoys the outdoors and going for a good quality walk. She is happy to match your energy and go with the flow! Cora is currently working on being less leash reactive on walks with her foster, she has been training every day with her foster mom and has made significant progress. Cora does not pull or lag on walks but is working through reactivity issues so a strong handler who has experience with dog reactive dogs would be best for this lady! Especially while she works through her fears. Cora's foster has noticed her reactivity to be much less in less dense areas. Cora is disinterested in other dogs and would like to just be with her people. Previously, Cora was being fostered with a FCR alumni dog and tension was high between the two of them. This has shown that Cora prefers to be an only dog but doesn't mind being around any cat friends! Although this sweet pea is house & crate trained, Cora is a dream living in a home environment! She will happily nap when her humans are away from home and does well unattended roaming around outside of her crate. At her core (pun intended), Cora is the sweetest loveliest, loyal and gentlest giant who thinks her humans are her world! She loves leisurely walks around a quiet neighborhood, curling up on the couch, giving nose kisses and just in general being with her people. If you think Cora is your gal she's looking forward to meeting you! Foster Update: Cora is getting more trusting and goofier every day and we've been working diligently on getting her used to strangers and passing other dogs in the neighborhood on walks every single day, she has proven to make significant progress. As she had a recent vet visit - the vet technicians had nothing but great things to say about her, she also got to wear the cone of shame for 10 days and took it like a champ. Cora would thrive in a home as an only dog - she loves her humans and is cat friendly. Cora is extremely easy-going in the house and will happily entertain herself with her stuffed toys and naps. Cora has been in foster care for over 1 year with no interest, she is ready for a loving and dedicated home to show her the ropes!
