My Story

Local Foster in New England~ I'm Cowboy was adopted to his family as young puppy and until recently we assumed all was well but mom emailed us to let us know that he had started not liking sharing his home with their small dog and there's been some scuffles. He has many, many wonderful qualities!! This handsome boy is so awesome with his humans - he is soooo affectionate and loves watching football or doing anything where he gets to hang out with you. Child friendly - lived with several and they adore him and he them. He does not need to be crated when you leave the house - he's not destructive at all - no chewing anything he should not. He's smart too! He'll sit in front of his food waiting for the "go ahead", he'll nose his leash when he needs to go out and sits when you pickup his leash as he knows he needs to sit before that goes on. Would love to get this guy settled into his forever home- he deserves it!! Name: Cowboy Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Sex: Male Age: 6 years (estimated) Weight: 95 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinations: Up to date Heartworm: Negative on recent testing Microchipped: Yes Housetrained: Yes and does not need crating when you leave the hours. BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Yes Good with Dogs: Has had scuffles (no injuries) with other dogs. He gets overstimulated, and it is unpredictable when he will react. Best as an only dog. Good with Cats: No, high prey drive as well. Adoption Fee: $250.00 (includes transport fee when applicable) Location of dog currently: New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
