Cynthia is a 1-year-old, 42lb. Pit Bull Terrier mix female, spayed, UTD, heartworm-neg and on preventative. Very friendly, heartbreaking smile, housebroken, good on-leash, loves people, and is good with cats & children. Cynthia is fine meeting dogs in casual encounters, but needs a home as an only dog. HER HISTORY: Cyn was taken from her owners for maltreatment. She had been left tied out, given insufficient food, and had a number of cuts on her beautiful face. Cyn rapidly became a favorite with shelter personnel, who took her for long walks and let her clown around, nap, and do her happy Pit Bull dance in the office. Overcrowding limited her time there, and with her euthanization date looming, shelter personnel and rescue volunteers in several states got involved in making sure that Cyn would have a chance at a permanent home with someone to love her and care for her in the way that she deserves. She will arrive in Iowa on or around August 19th, and will be fostered here until the right person to adopt her comes along.
