This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Thank you!** Meet Cyrus - a 1.5 YO, Newfoundland mix boy, who weighs 110 lbs (as of 4/19/24). Sweet Cyrus was found as a stray at the end of 2023. Cyrus is a big, goofy pup who is incredibly friendly! Sometimes this gentle giant doesn't realize his size. The newfie in him means he loves the water so anyone who can take this boy swimming will easily become his new BFF. He is incredibly smart and learning new commands quickly. Given his breed and size, he would be happier with an active family who can provide him adequate space and exercise. He does best with exercise and mental stimulation. He would do great on a farm or larger property with room to run and explore! Since he doesn't realize his size, the family will need to work with him on training/manners because we want to set him up for success! He will be an incredibly addition to a family who can give him all the love he deserves! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
