My Story

Daisy / F / 10Y / 63lbs / Lab mix / Fostered in Kimberley Did you know that 10 years old is the new 5? You'd never know that Daisy is a senior. She doesn't let her age slow her down. She is described as good natured, sweet, loving, calm, affectionate and curious. Her favourite things are mealtime and treats, giving and receiving hugs and kisses, belly rubs, and watching birds and squirrels out the window. Her most favourite thing in the entire world is squeaky toys. When she hears one squeak, she cannot resist, even if she's sound asleep! Her foster parents say their favourite thing about her is "She very gently taps you with her paw to get your attention. She does the same stretch every time she's about to fall into a deep sleep, where she rolls on her back to expose her tummy and kicks one leg up in the air". She does the cutest little happy dance and sometimes a spin while waiting for her breakfast or dinner. Daisy is doing well with house training, as long as she gets frequent trips outside (she is currently being taken out 4 times a day). She walks well on leash and enjoys being outside with her family. She is trusted free roaming in the house when left alone and has had no issues. She loves being with her people and will be your shadow. She has not shown any guarding behaviours. She is medium energy level and is currently getting 30 minutes of walks a day plus 30 to 45 minutes of backyard time plus potty breaks. She has early stage renal disease but does not require any intervention at this time. She will need blood work every 6 months to monitor this. She did have a dental in December. She also develops UTIs so is receiving daily probiotics and D-Mannose supplements, which seem to be helping! Daisy is outgoing when meeting new people and will give lots of tail wags and puppy eyes, hoping for pets! She is good with dogs who give her space, but she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She doesn't like cats. She would be fine with respectful children. Her ideal family would be home often to ensure she has frequent potty breaks and frequent pets and snuggles. Daisy just wants to be seen and loved. She has so much love to give back. She will snuggle and look into your eyes for as long as you will let her!! <3 If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please complete an adoption application on our website. Her adoption fee is $300.
