My Story

Daisy is a lovely, mellow girl who would love to curl up with you on couch or bed and just hang out. A little play time and sunbathing in a fenced yard is all she needs or wants. Moving cars intimidate her, so she isn't a fan of walks and doesn't seem to need them. She has a pretty low energy level and really just wants to be with her family. She may bark just a bit at unfamiliar noises and sometimes at people arriving at the home, but is not a serious barker at all. This sweetie is a little timid sometimes in new situations and sometimes with new people, especially certain men. When our volunteer met her, Daisy was super friendly and immediately begged her for attention and butt scritches. :-) She is very food motivated and trainable. And -- did we mention? -- cuddly and chill. Daisy lived for several years with a tiny senior cat and another female dog around her size. She did great with the cat. She did playfully chase the kitty initially and on rare occasions over time. So a home with a cat could work if it's a confident cat who is not afraid of dogs. She also did wonderfully with the other dog, sharing space and playing. However, she did not like to share toys with the other dog. So her current family feels that Daisy would do best as an only dog. A housemate dog who is similarly mellow, doesn't care about toys, and is gentle with other dogs may work. In her current home, Daisy lives with two kids -- a toddler and an infant -- and has been very gentle with both. She plays with the toddler, gently and playfully chasing and being chased and cuddling with her. Daisy is housetrained and crate trained. She is 5 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. She is losing her home only because the infant of the home has severe allergies to pets. Her family is devastated to have to give her up, but currently she is having to live mostly separate from the family, and they know that this life is not good for such a loving, sweet family dog. We are helping the family rehome Daisy safely. Interested? Please email us ([email protected]) or reach out via PetFinder. We will ask you to fill out a rehoming application to keep this process as safe as possible for all involved -- especially Daisy!
