Meet this handsome boy, Dale! Dale and his brother Chip are brothers that were dumped in a secluded area with no food or water. They had bite marks all over their necks and legs and bloated bellies. Both dogs were so shy of people so we ended up trapping them after a week and bringing them into our kennels. Dale is very sweet but is still timid of new people. Our volunteers have worked with him every single day and he is so happy to see us with a wagging tail and kisses. Dale loves going out for walks and squeaking his toys. Dale walks really well on a leash and doesn't pull. Loud noises or strangers approaching him on walks scares him and he will stop and hide behind you. He is still learning to trust unknown things/people. Dale is around 1 year old and weighs 51 lbs. He is a pitbull terrier. Dale needs a foster who is patient will give him time and space so he can learn trust. Dale has shown no aggression, no growling, nipping or trying to bite. He will bark at strangers when they approach him. The most he would do is run away from strangers. Dale seems open to other dogs when introduced correctly. He's still a young boy so he's pliable. We dont know how he is with cats. He's seen them outside and shows interest but hasn't pulled to chase them or anything. His requirements would be: someone who has timid dog experience and has time and patience. They also need a secured fenced yard. He is neutered, vaccinated and ready to go!
