My Story

Name: Dalma Age: Estimated 6 months old Sex: Neutered Male Weight: 12.6 lbs (still growing up) Energy Level: Moderate (Level 5/10) Measurements: Neck: 10 inches; Chest: 14.6 inches; Back Length: 16.9 inches Foster Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/dalma_imbo?igsh=MXQ4ZzFiMW83MHZ3Nw==] More videos and pictures: [https://photos.app.goo.gl/84GuHtxvuPYrarYT9] Rescue Story: Dalma was found abandoned along with his siblings and mom in front of a high-kill shelter in Hongsung, South Korea. He is currently being fostered in South Korea and will fly to the US once he finds a suitable family. Approved applicants will have a two-week trial period to ensure the commitment and match. Personality & Behavior: - With Adults: Dalma is initially shy around both male and female adults but warms up quickly once he feels safe. - With Dogs: He confidently greets other dogs and loves playing with puppies, often jumping excitedly when he meets them during walks. - Home Alone: Dalma spends about 3 hours a week alone. He whimpers for the first 5 minutes but settles down and rests quietly in his space. - Car Rides: He is comfortable and well-behaved during car rides. - Walking: Dalma enjoys walks but can get startled by sudden noises or movements. When scared, he hides behind a tree. Training & Housebreaking: - Commands: Dalma understands the "house" command. - House Training: He uses pee pads for urinating but prefers to poop outside. Consistent outdoor potty breaks are recommended to reinforce his training. - Bathing: Dalma is not a fan of baths and is scared of the dryer sounds. His new family will need to work on desensitizing him to baths or consider using professional grooming services until he becomes more comfortable. - Favorite Activities: Dalma loves fetching toys and playing tug-a-war. - Favorite Treats: He enjoys jerky-type treats. Ideal Home: Dalma would thrive in a patient and loving home that can give him the attention and care he craves. His foster mom notes that he whimpers even when she goes to the bathroom, indicating his strong attachment to his caregivers. While he settles down after a few minutes, he needs a family that can understand and be patient with his initial separation anxiety. Dalma loves to be petted and craves human touch. He is currently teething, which means he has a tendency to chew. However, he is gentle and stops immediately when told. His new family should be prepared for this teething phase, which will improve with time. Foster Family's Insights: "Dalma is a puppy that loves human interaction. Even when I feed him in the morning, he prefers my touch over food. I haven't been able to pet him as much as he wants to avoid forming too strong an attachment, but he deserves a family that can give him all the love he needs. He does whimper for the first 5 minutes when left alone but then calms down. He is also scared of vacuum cleaners and still adjusting to baths. It took him about two days to warm up to us, but he became very affectionate once he did. He loves playing with other dogs and is very sociable. Dalma would do best in a home where he can receive lots of love and attention."
