Would you like to meet the dogs in person? We will be at Pamida in Madison from 10am-1pm on February 9th. Most of the dogs up for adoption will be at Pamida for you to meet! Foster parents will be there to answer any questions you may have about the dogs. We will accept applications for adoption at the event, but no on the spot adoptions will happen. If the weather is questionable, please call before traveling to Madison that day. See you at Pamida!

Deacon is an adorable chihuahua mix. He was found on a country road out in the cold. The person who found him looked for his owner with no luck. She could not keep him so she contacted Almost Home to find Deacon a good home. Deacon is young-probably not even a year old. He loves to play! Upon arrival in foster care, he wrestled with his foster brother and sisters and was so happy to be there. Deacon is working on housetraining and cratetraining.

Deacon is neutered, utd shots, kennel cough vaccinated, heartworm tested. His adoption donation is $175. We require an adoption application, references, adoption contract and home visit. We only adopt to families in SD, MN, NE, ND, IA.

Important things to know before you contact us:

If you are out of state, it does take time to process your application and find a home visitor from another rescue to do your visit. Please be SERIOUS about adopting a dog from our rescue before submitting an application.

The application is the first step. After we receive and approve a completed application, we will schedule a home visit.

Almost Home is run from foster homes. We have no facility for the public to come in and view pets.

We do not ship our dogs.
