Deion – Labrador Retriever mix – 2yrs – male (67lbs) Meet our big goof, Deion! This boy was found as a stray in an area of the desert that is known as a “dumping ground”. It’s heartbreaking that a place like that even exists. He was picked up by Animal Control and taken to a county shelter. Sadly, with them being so overwhelmed with dogs, he was in danger of being placed on the euthanasia list due to space. How horrible to be put to death because shelters are so full. We just couldn’t let that happen! We swooped Deion up and made him part of the SHR family. Now it’s our goal to find him the perfect home where he is loved and cared for forever. Deion is an awesome dog! He walks well on a leash and LOVES to go for walks. He’d make an outstanding walking, hiking, or jogging companion. We also believe that he is housebroken because he doesn’t have accidents in his kennel. Deion is smart, happy, and easy-going. We’ve learned that Deion is more interested in people than other dogs and he can be a bit intimidating to some other dogs. He does have a few play buddies, but is not overly playful and would be plenty happy with only humans as his company.
