Take a tissue - Denver's story will break your heart.
Denver, a 7-lb apricot poodle, was rescued from the shelter in horrible condition. His left front leg has a compound fracture left untreated and resulted in a severe deformity. His right eye was ulcerated so badly it had to be removed. AND....he has been shot! There are several pellets in his left hip! Add to that - he was extremely matted and filthy - all on top of a tiny, frail and thin body!
Despite his tragic life, Denver is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever had the pleasure to foster. He does not see himself as "handicapped" and is truly happy to be alive and thankful to finally have some medical treatment, good food, clean surroundings, and lots of love.
Denver personifies what we constantly see in these rescue dogs - amazing ability to forgive, unlimited capacity for unconditional love. Whenever I feel a little "sorry for myself" because some little something has gone wrong - I take one look into the sweet and trusting face of this little dog and suddenly there is a new prospective on what is really important and lasting in life! Denver never ceases to amaze me by running around in the yard (runs on the 2 good legs he has), eagerly waiting for his meals (but never food agressive!), and very appreciative for hugs - he gives WONDERFUL kisses!
If you could use some genuine inspiration in your life - this little dog could be a real blessing to you and your family! ONLY THE MOST SPECIAL HOME will be considered for Denver!
