Introducing Dexter! He is a handsome 2 year old, 30 pound Dachshund mix looking for his forever home. This boy is the definition of perfect-he loves to cuddle, play, enjoys the company of other dogs and even cats! Once Dexter gets to know you, he will greet you with endless tail wags, kisses and snuggles. One of his favorite things to do is to sit on the couch, chewing a chew toy and relaxing in the sun afterwards. Dexter is looking for a family who wants to shower him with attention, treats, and walks in the park or even around the block. He is the ideal companion to bring along with you when you are having brunch with friends or even picnics in the park! Although Dexter is now thriving in his foster home, he had quite the tough upbringing. Our wonderful staff in Puerto Rico were called about Dexter wandering around by a security guards gate. The security staff stated that he appeared to be injured, limping, very hungry and thirsty. By the time anyone was able to find him, he had already made his way to a golf course where it was a little more populated. After some treats and persuasion, he was able to be leashed up, taken to the vet where his limp magically disappeared after some extra loving. Once he was examined by the vet and given a clean bill of health, we’ve come to the conclusion that the limp was just for show and he is truly quite the actor!
