D.O.G.

D.O.G. is a neutered male, about 9 years old. He was recently abandoned by his owner under housing/financial distress. He was purchased as a puppy and owned by a young man. At 1 1/2 yrs. old he fell out of the truck he was tied into and dragged for many blocks. He was saved by a local vet hospital-after months of care, many many stitches, blood transfusions and skin graphs. In the picture of him standing you can see some of his scars. The mother of the young man then took D.O.G. into her care and he lived on a ranch with her for about the last 7 yrs. He loves people and attention. He obeys voice commands-sit, stay, down, come, walks on and off leash, totally housebroken. We have had him a couple weeks, living with our neutered male Shepherd/Malamute mix; they get along very well. We have left them alone indoors and out and nothing torn or chewed etc. He travels in the car well. He was here 4th of July with LOTS of fireworks and no problem. He seems to be a very loyal dog. He is responsive and submissive to our voices.
 
We are not able to keep him and desperately hope to find him a good home. With his age and lack of physical strength in his hind end (due to the truck incident) he is not very high maintenance for the size and breed of dog. We take him on short walks twice a day and he is very happy with that. He was very overweight when we got him and tired quickly. He has lost much weight and is getting around great.
