DOPEY

Dont let his name fool you- Dopey is actually a pretty smart young guy! He came to the shelter from a home where he didnt have a secure yard, so he was going on adventures in the neighborhood. A safe, secure yard is a must for this happy hound! Dopey spent time in a foster home and we learned so much about him! He was a quiet houseguest who enjoyed sleeping near his person at night. He was well-behaved when left alone (with toys to keep busy of course!) Dopey is super playful and loves tennis balls, and his foster described him as cuddly, loving and calm. Dopey just wants to love you! He is the sweetest boy who will love his owners more than anything. Heres what Dopeys volunteer friends have said about him: Dopey has become a favorite of mine. Hes friendly, walks well on leash, and is just a calm, sweet boy. He can seem a little stoic, but thats just his face lol he loves pets and even gives me a kiss from time to time. He knows sit and takes treats gently. I cant believe no one has snatched up this very good boy!! Dopey is a fun, active guy. He is open to an easygoing stroll sniffing all the smells or a more ambitious hike. Dopey also loves a good ear or butt scritch- I've never known him to turn down scritches. Dopey was a good boy on our recent walk as he didn't pull nor react to other dogs. He's highly treat motivated and knows many commands like sit, watch me, and paw. Today was my first time meeting Dopey. Hes a young pup but was surprisingly calm. He walked with a loose leash for our entire walk around the lake like a good boy. He was very accepting of pets and enjoyed his time out of kennel. He mostly just observed his surroundings and kept a nice walking pace. I really liked spending time with him! Dopey has mostly kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Hed like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure its a good fit. Ask to meet Dopey today!!
