My Story

Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal is the only licensed senior dog rescue organization in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a shelter or a public facility. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Please respect our volunteers' time. If a dog is listed on PetFinder, he/she IS available for adoption. We cannot reply to messages, phone calls, and emails about a dog until we have received, reviewed, and approved an adoption application. Our ADOPTION application is found at www.seniorhearts.org/how-to-adopt Completing this application is the first step in our adoption screening process. You MUST complete the application in its entirety in order to be considered as a potential adopter. Please select "More About Us" for further details on our adoption requirements. You can meet a dog ONLY after we have completed our adoption approval process. We look forward to receiving your application in hopes that you are able to meet our adoption requirements and provide this dog with a loving furever home. And now a few words about Miss Dora… Dora is 11 years young, weighs 12 lbs, and is ready to find her forever home. She is housetrained and would be good with or without a fur sibling. Fantastic things about Miss Dora: Dora is super friendly – She always wants to be around people and will follow you wherever you go. She’s the best and cutest shadow. She is also very funny – She has a goofy, sweet personality. She enjoys telling you all about her day whenever you get home by barking at you. She is always a happy lady – She is ALWAYS smiling. It’s hard not to be happy whenever you’re around her. Dora’s ideal home would be with an adopter that is a mix of active and a homebody. She enjoys spending her time outside either lounging on the deck or going on short walks. She also enjoys relaxing next to you so she’s the best of both worlds! She will adapt to any environment as long as her future adopter is patient and understands her little quirks. She does get little spurts of energy and will want to play fetch for a couple of throws. Why don’t you adopt Dora and explore the world of owning a senior dog? She can be adopted within a two-hour driving radius of Pittsburgh, PA. If you want to make Dora a part of your family, you must first complete the adoption application at www.seniorhearts.org/how-to-adopt
