My Story

Dottie is a 42lb spayed female Shepherd mix pup, estimated to be seven months old. She is up to date on all her vaccines. Dottie is crate trained and potty trained. She loves to play tug of war with a playmate and loves to play chase or keep away with sticks!   Dottie is heartworm negative and is on monthly prevention for heartworm, flea, and tick.   This sweet little girl only barks to play and if her foster is too slow with her dinner! She is a fun loving girl, very smart, and learns new things quickly. She is dog friendly to all breeds and sizes she has met. Dottie does bark at her foster’s small kitty, so we think she would do best in a home without feline friends. She is people friendly to adults and to children and would make a great family dog.   She is not destructive but if left alone she may chew on something left on the floor since, after all, she is still a puppy!   Dottie is working on her commands including sit, come, heel for walking on a leash, and off for not jumping on her humans. She loves to be active and loves to cuddle and play.  She likes chew toys and bully sticks and will remove squeakers for you in her stuffie!   Dottie rides well in the car without anxiety and sleeps in her crate at night but would certainly enjoy sleeping with her humans if allowed.   She would do well with an active single person or couple or family. This adventurous and curious pup is up for any adventure and has an active “on the go”personality and with proper recall she could be a great hiking and fishing buddy!   Dottie could be an only dog or have a doggie buddy!   Her perfect forever family should continue her training and she would do well with a fenced yard as she is not yet off leash trained.   Are you ready to add some “Dottie magic” to your life? Dottie is currently being fostered in Texas but available to transport to approved adopter in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. Adoption fee includes vaccinations, Spay/Neuter, microchip, deworming, heartworm test, transport and vet/documentation requirements in preparation for transport.
