“I was hiding under your porch because I love you. Can I stay?” Hi! My name is Doug! I was born on February 19, 2024, and I’m a Sharpei/lab mix. I’m going to be big boy; maybe medium-large. I was found outside of the sanctuary in a cardboard box all by myself, I was abandoned. I was very lucky to be helped by the nice people at The Cantu Foundation. I’m neutered or fully vaccinated. I don’t need a crate. I’m fully potty training. My foster parents tell me I’m doing well with leash training, and I’ve been going on walks around their property. I like to explore the yard, but I’ll stay close by even without the leash because I want to be by your side. My foster parents will tell you that I am the sweetest little foster. I do well with other dogs and children. I can be very cuddly, but I also have so much fun playing with my older foster dog mom. I’m not sure about cats because I haven’t met any but I’m still at a good age to be introduce to them. I’m very affectionate and I like to cuddle. I’m very sociable and I like to play! I don’t love riding in the car, but I do OK on shorter trips. My favorite things to do are eat, play, sleep – oh, and steal shoes (my foster parents are helping me work on that). Overall, my foster parents would describe me as silly, super adorable and curious. I would do well in an active home, maybe with a dog sibling or two. I would be a sweet best friend for any kid! I would also do well with a single owner if they were active and you were able to be home with me for most of the day. I’ve become very accustomed to a single-story home with yard access, but I think I could adjust to any loving home!
