My Story

Darling Duchess is about 15 mo old and weighs a tiny 30lbs. She is a friendly girl when she meets people outside, or visits people when with her person. According to her DNA report, she is heeler, chihuahua and Shepherd. She does have a temperament typical to these breeds because she can be somewhat protective of her own home. After a short time of getting to know a visitor, she will be a silly, friendly girl. She is an active, affectionate girl with everyone in the home. She loves to go on long walks and more preferably, jogging. She can be a bit insecure when first meeting some other dogs, but Duchess really does love other dogs of all sizes so another well socialized, playful dog in the home would be best. She loves to play with the kitties, too! After she’s had her playtime and exercise for the day, she enjoys cuddling with her people. She would also like to curl up in your lap for afternoon naps. She is a great mix of active and easy going! She is crate trained and already house trained She is still a young girl so she should be crated when alone so she doesn’t play with things that don’t belong to her. She is a relatively quiet girl, just barking at the other animals when she wants them to give chase. Duchess does have a heart murmur and although the vet said there are no restrictions for her during exercise and playtime. She must have a fenced yard and because of her age, she should not be left alone for more than 6hr intervals. She is insecure with young children so kids must be over 12yrs old. Because of her insecurity with new people, an adult only home is best. She must have an experienced dog owner to continue helping build her confidence when she meets other people and dogs while on leash.
