Duke and Dixie are looking for their forever home! Both dogs were found in the middle of traffic in front of my house. I took them in and tried searching for an owner. After 3 days I took them to animal control to help them find their owner or a home. They are a kill shelter though and in November I took them back the day they were to be euthanized. Little Dixie was very sick with pneumonia and both had worms. Dixie is back to perfect health now and both have been dewormed. They have both had their rabies shot and were spayed/neutered in December. They are the sweetest dogs, unfortunately I already have 3 dogs and a minipig who does not like these two at all. She gets very stressed otherwise we would've kept them. Both have been around kids as little as 18 months and have been great with them. They play great with my dogs and the neighbors dogs but do not like cats. The vet thinks Dixie might be Dukes mom but we can't say for sure. Here's some additional information about each. They are very bonded and need to stay together.
Duke- hound, terrier mix, male, 1 yr old, 45 lbs. Duke LOVES toys, the squeakier the better. He will chase a ball but is working on bringing it back to you. He loves to go on walks and doesn't pull much considering he hasn't been on many. He loves laying beside me and sliding his body down my legs to position himself for a good belly rub. Duke knows how to sit and we're working on shake.
Dixie- hound, terrier mix, female, 2 yrs old, 25 lbs. Dixie also loves toys and chasing after any toy you throw. Shes more likely to bring them back. Dixie's mission in life is to smother you with kisses. We are working on sitting before getting attention (to prevent jumping) and she's doing great with it. Dixie loves walks and will walk right beside you most of the time. Dixie loves chewing on bones and getting belly rubs. She knows how to sit and we are working on shake as well.
Both have been in my house for a few minutes while the pig was outside and did great. Bonded pair available 2/$80.
