About Dutton: Dutton is a brave and resilient young pup who has overcome incredible odds. At around 2 years old, this sweet Labrador mix has faced severe starvation, mange, and human-caused abuse. Despite his rough past, Dutton's spirit remains unbroken. He's currently recovering from a surgery to fix a fractured hip and femur and is making remarkable progress every day. Personality: Once Dutton gets to know you, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. His initial shyness quickly melts away to reveal a loving and gentle nature. Dutton is moderately active, enjoying playtime and walks, but he's also content with some cozy downtime by your side. His journey has shown just how strong and loving he truly is. Health: Dutton's physical wounds are healed, thanks to the dedicated care he's receiving. He is healthy and ready to move onto his furever home. He would like someone who can continue some training to ensure he retains use of his back leg. Despite his past hardships, Dutton's heart is full of love and trust ready to be shared with his forever family. What Dutton Needs: Dutton is looking for a patient and loving home where he can continue his recovery and start a new chapter filled with happiness and stability. He would thrive in a home where he can receive the care and attention he deserves. Dutton's ideal family would understand his past and support his journey to a full recovery with lots of love and gentle encouragement. FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before an animal is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending.
