Eliza came to us when she was about 1 1/2 years old in the spring of 2001. She is approx. 7 1/2 years old in these pictures taken May 12, 2007. Her pictures
really do not do her justice as they do not show how beautiful she is inside and out.
As of March 2008, poor Eliza has been at the shelter for 7 years. Eliza is a sweet, happy and well behaved girl. She can really brighten your day when she comes up to give you a kiss and is always the first one to come great you. She is just so happy to see you. Eliza has really blossomed personality wise in her larger kennel and has become a very loving girl. She so enjoys going for walks with the volunteers and does well on a leash. The girl thrives on attention. Eliza will go to her kennel when we ask her to, as she is a smart dog. She gets along with male dogs but sometimes has trouble with some female dogs. Eliza does have food aggression with other dogs and would need to be fed separate. She DOES NOT have any food aggression with people at all.
Eliza is such a
GREAT DOG and would make a
WONDERFUL addition to any family if given a chance.
PLEASE consider adopting Eliza into your family as she doesn't deserve to live out the rest of her life at a shelter with very little attention.February 18, 2007 - UPDATE: Eliza went with the LP volunteers to the Mardi Gras Pawty. She was one of the best doggie ambassadors LP has ever had. Eliza did great with everyone who came up to her from young children to seniors. She did well with all of the other dogs at the event and did great on the leash too. We also found out that she rides well in a car. Eliza so enjoyed receiving all of that attention as she doesn't get much at the shelter.
May 21, 2007 - UPDATE:Eliza went to the vet today for a dental and blood work. She had one tooth pulled. Her blood work was great. Eliza weighed 43.3 pounds. She was very good in the car and at the vet's office.
We do not know if she is housetrained or likes cats. Like 99% of the animals at the shelter, she was picked up as a stray off the street.
