Erwin

COURTESY POSTING: Erwin is a large mix of Black Lab and German Shepherd. He's an awfully good-natured boy weighing 66 lbs. and once gaining the added weight that he needs, he should top off at about 70 lbs. He's about a year and a half. If you love the idea of a big, affable, family dog, then come and have a look at Erwin, who's being fostered in southern NH. Erwin is very good with people. I was told by his shelter volunteer that he did great with dogs there and he has interacted well with my Rottweiler mix and another smaller foster dog. I don't know how he feels about kitties. Always smiling and wanting to be a part of what's going on, Erwin enjoys playing with toys and walks in the woods. The big guy will need obedience training classes to make sure he understands not to pull while on leash and keep all four paws on the ground. His foster mom is helping him with the basics like sit-stay-wait-leave it-off and watch me. Erwin is eager to please and attentive, so should quickly move to the head of his class. Erwin also is great at riding quietly in a car. Seems to enjoy any excuse to go on an errand, like to get more dog food! And what a bonus for his new family...he's housetrained!! And has been behaving himself very well indoors without making a lot of raucous. Erwin has been invited to sleep on his blanket in the bedroom. He lobbied for the people bed, but resigned himself after a couple of "off' commands, to his place on the floor. And slept without a peep all through the night. Due to Erwin being such a big boy, his ideal home should have older, respectful, dog savvy children. And plenty of daily walks or run abouts in a fenced yard to keep his mind and body happy and healthy. Erwin is ready to set down roots, paws and a tail. This wonderful dog is so wanting and deserving to be someone's treasured friend. He's right here, why not give us a call! Erwin is neutered, UTD w/vaccinations and HW-.
