This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Thank you!** Meet Fairlee - a 2 year old, 52 pound, Black Lab mix gal. Fairlee is a stunning and sweet gal! We have no idea why she was dumped in the middle of nowhere in Mississippi before they came into rescue. Fairlee is a shy girl, yet her gentle nature will steal your heart. Once she feels comfortable she shines- she is so sweet and so beautiful, and so deserving of a loving home. With a little patience and kindness, she will be a gentle, faithful four-legged friend!! She loves to be petted and get back scratches , however a loud noise, she is off like a rocket. Her foster shares: "I honestly believe that being in a home of her own, where she has human contact all the time, she will really blossom in no time! We have been blessed with a wonderful volunteer who has only just started taking Fairlee out to the play yard, and she is already making strides. I would suggest that she go to a home with another friendly dog, and DEFINITELY a fenced yard. She is great with other dogs and is more confident with them around! She is such a sweetheart and ready to find her forever home!" All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
