My Story

What do Elvis fans and Tinker Bell fans have in common? They both love hound dogs named Fairy! She ain't nothing but a hound dog- introducing the one and only Fairy! Fairy is a 2-month-old, hound mix weighing in at 18lbs. Fairy came to Louie's Legacy being described as a hound mix, but her foster parents swear she is a Bluetick Coonhound mix. Fairy, much like the aforementioned Tinker Bell, Fairy is a very lively and free-spirited dog. Fairy is sweet, kind, playful, and adventurous. She loves to start play fights with her brother, Imp, and is definitely the alpha of the two puppies. Fairy is a little more resilient than her brother, and wants to do what Fairy wants to do, but she still has responded well to basic commands and simple training. Fairy is teething a bit, but not as badly as her brother, and she mostly just chews on chew toys on pee pads. Fairy is a digger and will also try to dig into furniture but has responded well to positive reinforcement. She really is just an adventurous, fun-loving puppy who doesn't fully understand why she gets in trouble yet. With continued training and patience, she will be a super sweet and playful pup! Fairy enjoys playing and seems to be a fan of almost any toy you throw her way! Currently, her favorite seems to be stuffed animal chew toys. Fairy is really good about not destroying toys, and she can always find a toy to entertain herself with! Fairy is not potty trained yet but responds well to pee pads. Fairy is also known to chew up pee pads when her fosters aren't around, even if the pee pads are soiled. Trust her with pee pads at your own risk! She will use them appropriately though as long as someone is keeping a watchful eye on her. Fairy is also crate trained / play pen trained and has never challenged the boundaries! She hasn't jumped out of the play pen or tried to escape the crate. Fairy can be very sweet and respectful! If you want a playful little puppy dog to love you with all of her heart, then apply for Fairy today! Fairy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
