Adopt Falkor! Meet goofy Falkor! Falkor is about a year old and is possibly a yorkie mix. He was rescued from Oakland Animal Services where he arrived in March 2024 with a suspected femur fracture, broken pelvis, and non-healing fractures. He was on crate rest with a loving foster family for a few months to give him time to heal. The great news is that as of June 2024, he was given a clean bill of health from an orthopedic surgeon. No more crate rest and he’s allowed to resume normal dog activities - walks, playing with other dogs, and running after his favorite balls! Falkor sometimes favors one of his hind legs and is rebuilding his stamina, but other than that it’s hard to tell that this happy guy was injured. Falkor is high-energy and affectionate. He enjoys his chew toys and bones, which means he can keep himself occupied when left alone. He regularly hangs out with his fellow foster dogs (mostly small dogs and puppies) and he is fantastic with them - both playful and gentle. He’s potty trained (although sometimes he will mark inside) and he’s crate/x-pen trained. He doesn’t mind being held and he sneaks some face kisses whenever possible. He also doesn’t mind car rides and he’ll usually either curl up in a dog bed in the car or sit in the seat and look out the window. He’s a typical puppy and can be a little mouthy at times. He also sometimes alert barks when strangers approach. His foster is working with a trainer to help Falkor continue maturing into a well-behaved pup. We would love for you to meet him!
