My Story

Fefe came to TJO as a very nervous stray who was slow to warm up, but once she became more comfortable she started looking for love and attention wherever she could find it. While she can still be wary of new people, she warms up quickly with those who are willing to let her come to them. Even with her anxieties, however, Fefe is a very excitable and high-energy dog, and so would do best with someone who has both the patience and experience necessary to provide her with the right home. OTHER PETS: Fefe is calm when walking next to other dogs who don't pay her much mind, but when they come into her space she quickly becomes uncomfortable and will growl to set that boundary. She doesn't have much interest in interacting with other dogs as it is, and greatly prefers when they leave her alone as well, so she would do best as the only pet in the household. [Should Be Only Pet] NO SMALL DOGS OR CATS OWNER EXPERIENCE: Fefe would do best with someone who has experience with owning strong, high-energy dogs. [Experienced] KIDS: Fefe is uncomfortable with some types of handling, and is overall an intense dog who tends to jump and pull strongly on leash. She would would thus do better with adults who are able to handle both her energy and her strength. [Adults Only (17+)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Fefe is a lot of dog with a lot of energy. In a home environment, she would do best with both routine daily walks and various forms of mental enrichment to keep her mind and body busy. Once she's good and tired at the end of the day, she'd be happy to curl up and spend some time on the couch with her people! [Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Fefe is still at the beginning of her training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Fefe not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner. [Intense] GROOMING: [Minimal]
