My Story

Meet Fluffy. Now, accepting applications for consideration of adoption. Located in Miami Fluffy is a happy and lovable 6 year old chow mix about 25lbs. He always has a big smile on his face and loves spending time near his humans! Fluffy is very gentle with other animals, both cats he knows and doesn't know, as well as other dogs. He can get a little worked up around females. Fluffy is awaiting neuter next week, so some of his frisky behaviors will subside (mainly he wrestles with his bed!). Fluffy is a GREAT walker, and he goes to the bathroom outside. He doesn't pull on the leash and is a complete gentleman. He is friendly to every human and animal he meets (unless the dog seems aggressive and then he is very cautious). He's a smart boy. He's a great eater, except he can be tempted by cat food that is within his range (and who wouldn't be!). He currently eats regular kibble with a wet food topper, but I can see him eating any type of food. Fluffy was an angel during bath time and has the prettiest coat! He is currently crate trained for when I leave and when we all sleep, for his own safety since he's fairly new to the household. I have noticed he chews the corner of his bed in between his bed-wrestling. Hopefully, this will go away when he is neutered. In true Chow fashion, Fluffy does not feel safe being picked up or handled any way that isn't gentle (such as pushing him back from the door). He will communicate to you that this is not ok. We don't know how Fluffy was handled in the past, but he is very sweet when humans are not physically moving him. I have a ramp for the car for vet trips since it's an SUV. He is nervous in the car also, most likely he hasn't had many car rides. I use a doggy seatbelt to make him feel safer. I would only recommend households with children 13 and older to help make him feel the safest. Fluffy is truly happy to be safe and loved again. He will be a great addition to a household as a companion dog.
