This is Lily. Lily is currently in Foster with one of our Foster/Volunteers. Neil was the one who found Lily and has offered to have her housed at his home to make her more adoptable. This is what he has to say about her. "I met Lily on the side of a dirt road near my home. She had been abandoned. She was dirty, frightened and had mats of pine pitch stuck to her fur. While she didn't come willingly, at no time did she show signs of aggression. Once home I left her to decompress and adjust to her new surroundings for a couple days. A bath and a couple days rest seemed to really help. With lots of quiet visits and very brief leash walks lily began to "blossom" (see what I did there). She now loves long leash walks exploring all the smells around her. She loves, loves neck scratches and belly rubs and readily forgoes food or treats for human affection. Lily is a petite 28 pound approximately 3-4 year old hound mix that loves people and dogs. She is still a little shy but warms up quickly and loves to snuggle. She shows absolutely no signs of aggression towards people or dogs. She's quite good on leash, especially considering it's totally new to her. She enjoys playing with plush toys and hardly barks.
