Meet Frankie!
Frankie is a 3 y/o, 60 lb. bulldog mix who was saved from euthanasia at the shelter due to kennel stress and anxiety (to the point of self mutilation).
Besides the shelter being an extremely scary place, we found out that a lot of his stress comes from really wanting to be near a person as much as possible.
The good news about that is that he is the perfect couch-potato cuddle dog who just wants to curl up next to you to watch TV or take a nap.
The downside to that, however, is that even though he tested friendly/social with other dogs while he was at the shelter, it’s a different story in a home environment. And that’s because he doesn’t want to share his person with other dogs. He doesn’t seem to mind cats, though, and has no problem at all with other people coming and going. As long as there’s people around, he’s happy as a clam!
We know that a home with no other dogs and someone who’s home a lot is a tall order, but he is a sweet boy, and if we can’t find a place for him and have no choice but to put him in a traditional boarding facility, he’s going to start to deteriorate again, in a major way. :,-(
So, we are keeping fingers and paws crossed that there is someone out there who just happens to be looking for a great companion dog like him and is able to help Frankie!
If you can help, please message us ASAP or text/call Aly at 732-604-0625!
Thank you so much for considering a pet in extremely urgent need!
{ NOTE: Interested fosters or adopters will be able to speak to his foster mom and meet him virtually over video! Transport will be arranged to northern points }
