ABOUT FRECKLES This stunning 9 month old terrier mix is Freckles! She came to HAP after being found wandering as a stray. Despite our efforts to find her owners, no one came for her. Freckles is a bundle of life, joy, and energy! This little girl LOVES to play and explore. Freckles has been a superstar in our Doggy Day Out program, where volunteers give our dogs a break from shelter life! Check out what our volunteers have to say about her: "Had a wonderful day with Freckles yesterday. She was the best cheerleader at my son's tennis match. She met a rooster, loved watching the balls fly back and forth and than caught her own tennis ball. She's great in the car and sits nicely looking out the window. We followed it up with some more fun at Constitution Yards. She is so much fun, this girl is perfect!" - Nicole "Freckles walked great on the leash and is a super friendly, sweet, very energetic, and curious girl! She loved the noise of the treat bag opening and it always brought her attention back to me on the two walks we went on. We took a little break between walks in my apartment, where she definitely startled herself by her own reflection, which was the only time she barked. She was also very rambunctious when we came inside but the walks seemed to greatly calm her down. She had a lot of love and energy to give. Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
