My Story

Who Is Freddie? (Special Needs) - Adoption Fee $150 Freddie is a cute little guy who needs a home with a single adult person (male or female). He does best without kids and has a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde personality when other people are in his space. However, he gets along great with other dogs, both large and small. RMDR picked Freddie up from the shelter as a stray. Initially reactive, his fosters tested his DNA and have been working with Darcy at Dog2Dog on obedience training, which has transformed his life. Freddie is now a healthy and happy boy who is a sweetheart once you've earned his trust! He will need time to adjust to his new forever family, typically taking about 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months to feel at home. About Freddie (when you have earned his trust): - Mixed breed (small size poodle, long-haired chihuahua, shih tzu, etc.) - Healthy and affectionate - Blonde long hair (receives regular haircuts) - Has undergone obedience training - Enjoys "working" with obedience practice - Super obedient and smart - Loves to play fetch and gets along with other dogs - Loves cuddles on your lap and under a blanket - Strives for your love and is a "shadow" dog - Follows you everywhere and is a great companion - Excited to see you and does his "Freddie dance" - Enjoys rides, LOVES water, sunbathing, and outings to stores and parks - Loves ice and will sit in front of the fridge to play with it How to Sustain His Training (Training controls his attitude): - Managing his triggers is key to his happiness - Training creates the leadership structure he needs at home - E-collar* is a tool for good behavior (not worn all the time) - In public, e-collar is on along with a leash - E-collar is on around triggers - E-collar is off during naps and bedtime - He needs to be on a leash with any collar to guide him; no off-leash time away from home - Grooming needs to be done at home; he cannot go to the groomer - Best fit for a single adult or adult couple; no children - His current trainer can be contacted to continue working with you and him - *E-collar should not be used without proper knowledge His current fosters are available to discuss Freddie with you if you are interested.
