Hello there, my name is Gage! I came to MVPC from a 3 strikes and you're out family. First strike, they kept me outside in a kennel my whole life where I caught a couple different parasitic infections. Second strike, they taught me nothing. Third strike, they weren't very nice to me. Thank goodness I wound up here! I'll be honest with you, I'm a high energy work in progress. Luckily, I'm also a smart guy who wants to please you. I just have a lot to learn, and I got started a little late. I am super sweet and am finding that positive attention is the bee's knees! I am adjusting to being a house dog, and I like it! I'm picking up on my commands, and learning to settle down. Leash manners and being less mouthy are also on my agenda. I don't really like my crate after 3 years in a kennel, but I am doing a little better every day. I do have my potty manners down! Other dogs are pretty awesome, but I need to learn proper play. I don't know much about cats yet. I want to be with you or near you at all times - I absolutely need a family with GSD experience that will understand me and my needs because I don't really understand them myself yet. ADOPTION FEE: $400 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: Dog experience BIRTHDAY: 8/21/20 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes! DOGS IN HOME: Yes, can be solo CATS: Unknown, can be tested CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $400 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response. PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies.
