My Story

Practically the Perfect Puppy! Meet Gak! Gak is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). If you are of a certain age, you may remember the fun of playing with Gak. Now you can experience that same sense of joy and wonder every day with puppy Gak, the lovable canine companion who's always ready to bring a smile to your face! Cuddly and hilarious, puppy Gak will have you laughing at his antics. And that big, goofy grin of his? Irresistible! Gak’s favorite activities are snuggling with you, chasing his tail, and playing with a ball. Curious and playful, Gak is enchanted by new things, whether it is a toy, a person, or bare toes. The world is still so new to him, and exploring is a favorite pastime. He finds his foster’s pool fascinating, and he has ventured into the water up to his front knees. He romps with other dogs and has good manners around the cats; he does not push when they are not interested in playing with him. Gak is practically the perfect puppy. Friendly and affectionate, Gak loves to give kisses and receive your pets. And belly rubs? Gak adores belly rubs and thanks you profusely with sweet puppy kisses. Gak offers endless love and loyalty to his forever family. He'll stick by your side through thick and thin, ready to share in all of life's ups and downs. Born on May 2, 2024, Gak is a young puppy who is learning new skills. He is progressing well through potty training; he settles nicely in his crate and can be left in it for several hours at a time. Gak has begun leash training and will start obedience practice shortly. He loves treats which will help him master new behaviors quickly. Vaccinated and neutered, Gak is ready to go home with an adopter. Gak’s ideal home? He loves everyone and everything, especially a good play session followed by cuddles on the couch. His ideal home would have people to love, who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Some neat toys to play with, daily walks, and adventures would be wonderful. And lots of attention! Does this sound like your home? Want to meet Gak? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. 1. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). 2. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. 3. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.) 4. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time. 5. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. • Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. • Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
