Garrett

Garrett's story is a tough one. He was spotted as a stray, living in an area that is a frequent dumping ground for dogs. He wasn't sure who to trust, so wouldn't let anyone catch him. He survived on his own for weeks and weeks. Finally, a kind lady went out with a trap and Garrett walked right in. From the moment he was trapped, he decided to trust and let his sweet disposition shine through. Garret was skinny, covered in hundreds of ticks, and a little dehydrated. And he was completely exhausted. After a couple of nights with another great rescuer, he transferred to our care. A vet visit determined that Garrett was basically healthy, he just needed some good TLC and regular meals. No problem! I'm not sure we have enough words to explain how amazing this boy is. Despite extreme neglect that clearly went on prior to being dumped, his good nature and affectionate personality survived. The tips of his ears have been scarred due to fly bites and the tip of his tail is bald...an injury that occurs when a dog is confined, but still wags his tail in hope. Someone did not care for this boy--likely leaving him in an outdoor pen without proper care before just deciding to be done with him. Garrett loves to be near his person. If you have a home office, he wants a dog bed by your desk. If you are watching a movie, he wants to snuggle up with you on the couch. If you're headed out for a walk, he'd love to join you. Car rides? Sure! And when it's bedtime? He's going to curl up close to your side and not move a muscle until you're ready to get up too. If you can't give him this life, please scroll on.
