FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Gofer into the Fetch + Releash family September 15, 2024. In order for Gofer to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gofer / Male / 8 months / 40lbs / Hound Mix / Confident and Social / From Tennessee Meet Gofer! Surrendered alongside his two brothers and sister, these pups were the "unwanted" members of an unexpected litter. Fortunately, they found a safe haven with our partners and are now ready to find their forever homes. Though they haven’t experienced abandonment, they’ve only known outdoor life without structure or training. Gofer needs a dedicated family to guide him through the basics and beyond. He is brimming with potential thanks to his wonderful temperament. Gofer is the leader of the pack and the first to capture attention from new people. With his charming personality, he’s sure to be a delightful family dog, especially with dog-savvy kids who can respect his space while he adjusts to his new environment. His family will need to be dedicated to his training from house training, crate training and learning to walk on leash. A home with a yard may be the most suitable for Gofers transition to a life indoors. Due to his typical hound behaviors, Gofer might not be the best fit for a condo or apartment. However, with commitment and patience, he can adapt and thrive, although his new family should be mindful of his potential to be a bit noisy during the transition period. His brother Bob has already found his forever home in Canada and is thriving, which is a promising sign for Gofer's future. Gofer gets along well with other dogs and would do great either on his own or as a second dog. While he can be vocal when playing or alerting, he is generally quiet. Gofer is eager for a life filled with love and adventure, and he can't wait to share all the joys of life by your side. Are you ready to give Gofer the loving home he deserves? If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Gofers adoption fee is $900.
